“Disabled are victims of FATE but let us not make them victim to our NEGLECT” is the basic motive for starting CBR by SIDUR in the slums of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. the comprehensive cross disability approach of CBR made many disabled to live with dignity and enter the new millennium holding their heads high. As we move further, more challenging, more qualitative and quantitative services have to be delivered.SIDUR is working in 64slums during the current year catering to 462 clients of all disabilities."

Activities:

Basing on the need, age and ability, al the clients who are various categories are given services.

Early intervention and Preschool counselling

School going children were admitted in Government Schools

Pre-vocational training skills are being imparted

Job placement was also done

Parent meetings were conducted periodically cluster wise and public awareness was created along with counselling

Supportive services such as Medical Certificate, Bus, Rail concessions were provided

Networking with Government and other NGO’s was taken up

Training of field workers at SIDUR and the field staff of SIDUR have undergone training

In service training courses were also conducted for special teachers of A..P
