NGO Facilitation

Along with the weavers programme another important area of human development SIDUR took up was Dalit Empowerment and Development Programme. A number of small NGOs all across Andhra Pradesh were identified and they were all brought under one banner called Dalit Voluntary Associations Federation (DVAF). Each NGO is independent and works in interior rural areas and among Dalits & Tribals in their region. The main activities of DVAF are:

Formation of sanghams of Dalit men and Women,
People Mobilization,
Awareness Campaigns,
Mandal level Campaigns and Mandal/ Cluster level FederationMeetings,
Campaigns on child Labour,
Resource Mobilization, Women Empowerment,
Thrift and Credit Programmes,
Income Generation Programmes,
Strengthening of district and state level networks,
Natural Calamity Tsunami affect.

We work in 137 different areas in Andhra Pradesh through 137 NGOs.
